INSPIRED BY WWII FIELD GEAR

The leather Y-strap on the No.325Y didn't come from another work apron.

I adapted the design from the leather Y-straps used with German field equipment during WWII. The original system distributed the weight of carried equipment across the shoulders rather than concentrating it at a single point.

I saw that same geometry as a solution to a problem with traditional workshop aprons.

FROM FIELD GEAR TO WORK APRON

A conventional apron hangs much of its weight from the neck. That may not matter for a short job, but after hours in the shop—especially with tools in the pockets—you notice it.

I adapted the leather Y-strap configuration to the No.325, allowing the apron to ride from the shoulders instead of the neck. The result is a secure, balanced fit designed for long hours of woodworking, metalworking, fabrication, and shop work.

The military origin isn't decorative. It's a functional idea borrowed from equipment designed to carry weight and put to a new purpose.

HORWEEN CHROMEXCEL LEATHER

We cut the Y-strap from full-grain Chromexcel leather made by Horween Leather Company in Chicago.

Chromexcel is hot-stuffed with oils and waxes during tanning, giving it its characteristic pull-up and allowing the leather to soften and develop a rich patina through years of handling and wear.

Paired with 14 oz waxed canvas and solid brass hardware, these are materials chosen to age rather than remain pristine.

Every No.325Y Workshop Apron is cut and sewn in small batches in our Omaha studio.

CARE

Hand wash with cold water and mild soap. Avoid soaking the leather straps. Air dry away from direct sunlight.

Waxed canvas and leather will naturally crease, scuff, darken, and develop patina with use.

Pant Size is seldom based off actual dimensions. It is not reliable in determining apron size.

It's best to measure around the widest point of your waist with a tailor's tape or string. You could also lay a pair of pants that fit flat then measure across the waist. Double that measurement to get circumference.
